Recovery Dharma is a Buddhist-inspired, peer-led approach to recovery that centers on meditation, mindfulness, compassion, and community. The program draws from the Buddhist Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path, but its community describes the practice as a recovery path rather than requiring participants to adopt a particular religion or belief system.
The program emphasizes developing a regular meditation practice, attending recovery meetings, investigating the causes and patterns behind addictive behavior, building healthy relationships, and supporting others in recovery. Recovery Dharma communities, or sanghas, are generally autonomous and can offer online, in-person, and hybrid meetings.
