LifeRing Secular Recovery

Written by Heidi M

LifeRing Secular Recovery is a peer-support program built around three ideas: Sobriety, Secularity, and Self-Direction. It is specifically designed for people who want an abstinence-based recovery pathway without a religious or spiritual framework. LifeRing emphasizes that there isn't one prescribed way to achieve sobriety and encourages participants to develop the approach that works for them.

Meetings focus on practical support, sharing experiences, strengthening motivation, and helping participants build their sober lives. LifeRing describes recovery as something each person actively builds through their own motivation and choices, while the community provides connection and encouragement along the way.
