Pills Anonymous (PA)

Written by Heidi M

Pills Anonymous is a Twelve Step fellowship for people who want to stop misusing pills or recover from problems associated with pill use. Depending on the individual, this may involve prescription medications or other pills that have become difficult to use safely or as intended. The fellowship offers peer support based on shared experiences and the Twelve Steps.

Members can attend meetings, discuss challenges without judgment, and build relationships with others who understand the difficulties of recovery. The Twelve Step framework offers a structure for self-reflection, accountability, and ongoing support. Anyone who may be physically dependent on a medication should seek medical guidance before stopping or changing it, as some medications require supervised tapering.
