Introduction

This article provides a step-by-step guide to connecting your SocialLadder account to Iterable using API keys. This connection allows you to leverage Iterable's powerful marketing automation and email capabilities with your SocialLadder data.

Creating API Keys in Iterable

  1. Log into your Iterable account

  2. Navigate to Integrations and go to the API Keys section

  3. Click on New API Key

  4. Recommended Name: SocialLadder - ServerSide

    • NOTE: This can be tailored to your preference if you need to create keys for multiple environments

    • For Type select: Server-side

  5. After creating the API Key, copy the key and save it somewhere secure on your end. NOTE: You will not be able to retrieve the API Key again.

  6. Send the API key to your Account Manager so they can configure the Iterable configuration for your account.

Creating Campaigns

For each email template in SocialLadder that you would like to send through Iterable, you will need to create a Campaign inside of Iterable following the process below:

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns section

  2. Enter a name for this Campaign

    • NOTE: We recommend naming the campaign the same as the name of the Email Template this will be used for from the SocialLadder portal.

    • Select the type API-Triggered

  3. After creating, you will enter "Edit mode"

  4. Retrieve the Campaign ID (This can be found in two places - see below)

    • The line below the campaign name

    • In the sample API request of the Audience section

  5. In the SocialLadder portal, navigate to the Email Templates page under Settings

  1. Navigate to the specific email you created the campaign for and click the edit icon

  2. Enter the Campaign ID from Iterable into the External CRM Event ID field

  3. Click Save Template at the bottom of the email editor
