Introduction
Purpose: This article outlines all the steps needed to tag ambassadors through the application or onboarding form.
Context: The application form serves as the first touchpoint for potential ambassadors. By adding custom questions, you can collect key information and apply tags to group ambassadors effectively upon approval. You can also add custom questions and apply tags to ambassadors who are directly invited to the platform.
Custom Questions' Overview
There are two methods available for recruiting ambassadors. Read more about them in this article:
Application – Anyone interested in becoming an ambassador can apply for review.
Onboarding Flow – SL Admin users can directly invite individuals to register as ambassadors, with no approval required.
In both methods, you can add list-type questions to collect relevant information about the ambassador (e.g., description, product preferences, shoe size, etc.). See the screenshot below.
You can also use tags as answer options for these questions. Once an option is selected, the corresponding tag will automatically be applied to the ambassador’s profile.
Requirements
Plan Ambassador Segmentation: Consider what types of segments you’ll need to effectively manage your ambassador program. Make a list of the groups you want to use for challenge targeting, reward distribution, or creating private rooms on the community.
Create All Tags: Set up all necessary tags in advance—these will be used as answer choices in your custom questions. Be sure to create them before customizing the application and/or onboarding form. For more details, read this article: How to Create Tags

How to View Ambassador Tags
Now, once the ambassadors fill out the application form or onboarding form, they will select an alternative for the custom question and get auto-tagged.
For a Specific Ambassador
You can view all tags added to a specific Ambassador Profile.
Click on Ambassador Management > Ambassador List.
Select the Ambassador Profile.
Scroll to the Tag section to review all tags.
All Ambassadors with a Tag
You can view all ambassadors that contain a specific tag.
Click on Ambassador Management > Tags.
Search for the tag.
You'll see the total number of ambassadors under the column Total Users.
Click on the Number to see the ambassadors' details.
Here you can Export All users on a csv file or remove tags from ambassadors.
Best Practices
Keep the application/onboarding forms short: Each new question will add a new page to the application and onboarding form. Create custom questions to collect relevant information only.
Be flexible: Ambassadors could be unsure or don't know how to answer a question. Make sure to add an alternative for these cases (eg. N/A or I don't know), or untoggle the Required field so they can skip it.
