It provides a step-by-step guide on how to set up SocialLadder as an app in your PayPal Business account and details the necessary information required to connect your PayPal to SocialLadder.
Go to your PayPal Business account and select developer from the tool bar on the top
On the Paypal Developer screen, hover over your account in the top right, and select Dashboard from the drop-down.
From the dashboard screen, select My Account from the right-side menu
On the My Account screen, look for Payouts Permission in the table, and then click Enable.
⚠️ Important: If you don’t see this option, please contact PayPal and request to have this feature enabled on your account. Keep in mind that your request will be reviewed by PayPal’s team before approval.
⚠️DO NOT PROCEED FURTHER IF YOU ARE NOT SEEING THE "ENABLE" BUTTON"
Once you click enable, a message will appear below. Go ahead and click on Continue. It might also ask you to verify your PayPal email. Verify the email.
After you have clicked continue and enabled payouts, go to the My Apps & Credentials page from the left-side menu. Make sure you are on Live credentials for the app.
Once you are on the My Apps & Credentials page, go ahead and click on the Create App button
A pop-up will appear where you can enter information about the app you want to create.
Enter the information below:App Name: SocialLadder
App Type: Merchant
Business Account: Leave as pre-populated email
Once you have filled out the information on the Create App pop-up, go ahead and click Create App.
Once the app has been created, you will need to copy the Client ID and the Secret Key. The Secret Key will be hidden and first, so make sure to click reveal to get this information.
After writing done the Client ID and Secret Key, scroll down to the next area called Webhooks. From here click on Add Webhook
Copy the URL below and paste it in the Webhook URL field in Paypal

Check the box that says "All Events" and then scroll to the bottom and click save.
Once you have set up the Webhook, make sure to write down the Webhook ID
The next step is adding the Client ID, Secret Key, and Webhook ID into SocialLadder to complete the integration. Go to your SocialLadder portal, click on Payment Method from the left-side menu under Payments.
On the Payment Method screen, click the "+ Add Payment Method". Enter the name of the Payout, and select "PayPal" in the "Select Processor" dropdown. Fill out the fields with the Client ID, Secret Key, and Webhook ID, and choose "Active" in the "Select Status" Drop Down
Once the information has been entered, click "Add". After that you should be good to go!
