Setting Up Your Instagram Account to Complete Instagram Story Challenges on the SocialLadder Web Experience

Introduction

  • Purpose: This article provides step-by-step instructions to help ambassadors connect their Facebook Business Page to their Instagram Creator Account—one of the required steps to complete Instagram Story Challenges.

Step 1: Verify Facebook and Instagram Connection

  1. Open Facebook and navigate to:
    ​Settings & Privacy → Settings

  2. Under Permissions, select Linked Accounts

  3. Confirm that your Instagram account is listed and connected

Step 2: Connect Your Accounts in SocialLadder

  1. Log into your SocialLadder account

  2. From the dashboard, either:

    • Click directly on the Story Challenge

    • Or go to Settings

  • Story Challenge Screen:

Connect your Facebook and Instagram

  • Settings Screen:
    Connect your Facebook and Instagram by clicking on the Social Media Icon:

If your Facebook and Instagram accounts are already connected, you'll be able to complete Story Challenges right away.

If they are not connected, the system will prompt a connection wizard to guide you through the setup:

  • Click on the link: "Log into your Facebook brand page"
    ​

  • You will be redirected to Facebook. Click Connect Account
    ​

  • Click Connect
    ​

  • Click Continue (The access to the Inbox is optional)

  • Verify the correct Facebook and Instagram accounts are listed, then click Continue again

  • You will receive a confirmation
    ​

  • You can also check if your connection is active:

  • Return to your SocialLadder Dashboard and select the Story to complete Challenge:

Step 3: Troubleshooting Connection Issues in SocialLadder

If your Facebook and Instagram accounts are connected but SocialLadder still does not recognize the connection, follow these steps to update your data access permissions:

  1. Open Facebook and go to:
    ​Settings & Privacy → Your Activity → Access and Control → Business Integrations

  2. Locate and ensure the SocialLadder integration is active

  3. Click View and Edit on the SocialLadder integration

  4. Confirm the following permissions are enabled:

    • Access insights for the Instagram account connected to your Page

    • Read Content Posted on the Page

    • Manage Accounts, Settings and Webhooks for a Page

    • Read User Content on your Page

    • Show a List of the Pages You Manage

  5. Click Save
