In the year 1760, queen consort Charlotte, wife of King George III, ordered a tea service from a 29-year-old potter, Lord Wedgwood.

Wedgwood quickly realised the impact that this order would make, as now he had royal approval for his work.

Wedgwood collections have found a place on British monarchs' tables ever since, as well as those of many other Heads of State. They also became the first-choice brand for the most prestigious hotels in the world.

What we can see here, as far back as the 18th century, is an early successful partnership and a great example of influencer marketing.
