Why You May Need a COI

Some buildings require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) before they allow large deliveries. At Sohnne®, we’re happy to provide this upon request.

To avoid delays, submit your COI request at least 5 business days before delivery (or 10 days for addresses outside major metro delivery areas).

We’ll email the COI to you before your delivery date, formatted to meet your building’s requirements.

How to Request a COI

Step 1: Confirm Your Building’s Requirements

Check with your property manager, HOA, or building supervisor to understand their delivery insurance requirements. Most buildings will require:

  • Minimum coverage amounts for:

    • General Liability Insurance

    • Workers’ Compensation Insurance

    • Comprehensive Auto Liability Insurance

    • Umbrella Coverage (if applicable)

  • Certificate Holder name and address

  • Additional Insured parties

💡 Tip: Attach your building’s requirements to your request for faster processing. We accept Word, PDF, JPEG, or PNG files (up to 40MB).

Step 2: Submit Your COI Request

  • Deadline: At least 5 business days before delivery (10 days for outside major metro areas).

  • Include:

    • Your sales order number

    • Building’s insurance requirements (file attachment recommended)

Submit via our online COI request form or contact our Customer Support Team directly.

Step 3: Receive and Share Your COI

Once we’ve prepared your COI:

  1. Review it to ensure it matches your building’s requirements.

  2. Please share it with your building or property manager.

  3. Confirm with your building that delivery access is approved.

Important Notes

  • Requests made less than the recommended time may require rescheduling.

  • If delivery is denied due to a missing or unapproved COI, cancellation or redelivery fees will apply per Sohnne® shipping policy.

  • Submitting requirements early ensures a smooth delivery.

Example of Common COI Requirements

  • Coverage Amounts:

    • $1,000,000 General Liability Insurance

    • $1,000,000 Workers’ Compensation Insurance

    • $1,000,000 Comprehensive Auto Liability Insurance

  • Additional Insured: Property Management/HOA must be listed as Additional Insured.
