How to Back Up Your Seeker Seed Vault Wallet Seed Phrase

Guide for backing up your Seeker Seed Vault Wallet Seed Phrase

Updated yesterday

Your 24-word seed phrase is the single most important piece of information related to your crypto assets. It is the master key that allows you to access and recover your funds on any device.

At Solana Mobile, we believe in true self-custody. This means you, and only you, are in control of your keys. Backing up your seed phrase is the most critical step you can take to secure your digital assets for the long term.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you lose your device and do not have your seed phrase backed up, your funds will be lost forever. No one, including Solana Mobile, can help you recover them.

Step-by-Step Backup Guide

Follow these steps to view and safely record your seed phrase. We recommend using one of the physical seed cards that was included in your Seeker packaging.

  1. Launch the Settings app on your Seeker.

  2. Tap on Seed Vault (it should be the first item in the list). This will take you to the seed overview screen.

  3. Tap on the seed you wish to back up (e.g., “Seeker Seed 1”) to view its details.

  4. Tap on Backup.

  5. Read the “Be Careful” screen carefully. It contains essential information about keeping your seed phrase secret and secure.

  6. Tap Reveal and enter your Seed Vault PIN code when prompted.

  7. Your 24-word seed phrase will be displayed. Carefully write down each word on your seed card.

    • Order is crucial! You must copy the words in the exact sequence shown, from 1 to 24.

    • Double-check your spelling. An incorrect word will make the entire phrase invalid.

  8. Once copied, tap Continue.

  9. Follow the instructions on the screen to verify that your seed phrase has been copied down correctly.

Backing Up Multiple Seeds

If you have more than one seed stored in your Seed Vault, you must back up each one individually. Repeat the steps above for every seed in your list. Each seed phrase is unique and controls different wallets.

Best Practices for Storing Your Seed Phrase

Now that you've written down your phrase, storing it securely is just as important.

  • Store It Offline: Keep your written seed phrase in a secure, physical location that is resistant to fire and water, such as a home safe or a bank's safety deposit box.

  • Never Go Digital: Do NOT take a photo of your seed phrase. Do NOT save it in a text file, note-taking app, email draft, or cloud storage service. Digital copies are prime targets for hackers.

  • Keep It Secret: Never share your seed phrase with anyone, for any reason. Legitimate support staff or Solana Mobile employees will never ask for it. Anyone who does is trying to steal your funds.

  • Consider Redundancy: For added peace of mind, consider making a second physical copy and storing it in a separate secure location.
