The Solo accountant portal enables accountants and bookkeepers to easily manage multiple Solo accounts from one place. In this guide we'll cover the basics of how to add a client to your accountant portal, access your clients financial data and how to remove a client from the portal.

The accountant portal is available for free.

How to connect a clients Solo account

To access your clients financial data, your client must first invite you to access their Solo account.

Your client should follow these steps in their Solo account:

  1. Go to Settings > Accountant access in the main menu.

  2. Enter their accountants email address. This should be the same email address that you used to create your accountant portal.

  3. Enable 'accountant can edit my data' access to their account. By default read only access is provided to the clients data. The permission options are:

    1. Read: You will have access to your clients reports, tax returns and data export only. You will not be able to modify the data in your clients Solo account.

    2. Edit: You will have access to the clients Solo account and can modify their data. You will not have access to your clients account details or bank feed. Only your clients can change their account email, password, delete their account or invite others to access their data.

  4. Click the Invite button. When the invite button is clicked, you will then receive an invite from the client in your accountant portal.

  5. In your accountant portal, click Accept invitation.

The client will then be added to your list of connected clients.

Tip: For a clients name and phone number to appear in your client list, your client must go to their Settings > Account page and enter the information.
