The Country Selector in Xtra, Next, and Xclusive themes allows customers to choose their country and automatically see the correct currency, pricing, and regional settings.
This selector works directly with your Shopify Markets and Shopify Payments settings.
How it works
When a customer selects a country from the Country Selector:
• Shopify automatically updates the currency
• Product prices refresh based on the selected country
• Checkout uses the correct currency and regional settings
• Taxes and shipping rules adjust accordingly
The theme does not control currency conversion. It only displays the selector and connects it with Shopify’s native Markets system.
Requirements
To use the Country Selector properly, you must configure Shopify Markets and enable Shopify Payments.
Step 1: Enable Shopify Payments
Go to Shopify Admin
Click Settings
Click Payments
Activate Shopify Payments
Add the currencies you want to support
Shopify Payments is required for automatic currency conversion.
Step 2: Configure Markets
Go to Shopify Store
Click Markets
Click Create market
Select the countries you want to include
Assign currencies if needed and save your changes
Only configured countries will appear in the selector.
Step 3: Enable the Country Selector in the theme
Go to Online Store → Themes
Click edit theme
Open the Header section settings
Enable Country selector and Save
The selector will now appear in your store header.
