SonicSpec will extract individual specification line items ("spec phrases") from a specification file so that you can add CD&E and Quote Consideration markups to each one.
Since extracting spec phrases from a file can be imperfect given the varying levels of client PDF quality, you can manually add, edit, or delete spec phrases to fix any upload errors.
Editing a Spec Phrase
To edit an existing spec phrase, click on the spec phrase and begin editing the text. When you have finished modifying the text, click anywhere outside of the spec phrase and your changes will be saved automatically.
Adding a New Spec Phrase
To add a new spec phrase:
Click on the spec phrase immediately above the position you wish to insert the new spec phrase.
Press the 'enter' or 'return' key on your keyboard twice to create a new line in the text input and begin typing your new spec phrase text.
After a brief period of inactivity, SonicSpec will sense that you are trying to create a new spec phrase and display the new text as its own spec phrase. If this occurs before you finished typing the new spec phrase, simply click the spec phrase to continue adding text.
Deleting an Existing Spec Phrase
To delete an existing spec phrase, click on the spec phrase and delete the text. After a brief moment, the spec phrase will be deleted.
Adjusting the Indentation Level of a Spec Phrase
To modify the indentation level of a spec phrase, ensure your text position is located at the beginning of the spec phrase (see video above, the caret / I-beam has been positioned at the start of the spec phrase). Use the 'tab' key on your keyboard to adjust the indentation level to the right. Use the 'delete' or 'backspace' key on your keyboard to adjust the indentation level to the left.
