SonicSpec's spec-phrase-matching solution allows users to add compliance responses and quote considerations in response to spec phrases.

But what if you just want to draw attention to important words or phrases that appear within a spec phrase?

Tags offer a customizable approach to identifying important terms or phrases so they are never missed during a spec review.

To add a new tag, click on the tags page from the left bar of your projects list:

Click the '+ New Tag' button to add a new tag.

Name: Give your tag a name so that you can identify the meaning of the tag. Note: this is not the keyword or phrase that you want to identify in specification documents. See keywords below.

Base Products: Select the base products that you want this tag to apply to. For instance, if you sell generators and transfer switches, you may not want to add "Bypass/Isolation" [a transfer switch term] to your generator products.

Highlight?: Do you want this tag to be highlighted when it appears in a specification? If it is a critical term that cannot be missed, you probably want it highlighted. If you are using the tag to identify listed manufacturer information or add a definition to a lesser known term, then you may not want to highlight it in your specification.

Tooltip: If a user hovers over the term in a specification document, they will see this Tooltip. You can use this to provide guidance to your salespeople or perhaps add a definition (maybe some lesser known codes or regulations?).

Keywords: This is where you can add multiple terms or phrases that you want identified anytime they appear in a specification. Type in a term or phrase and then press enter on your keyboard. You can add multiple keywords or phrases within one tag as there is often multiple ways of stating the same requirement.
