How to add new works on your profile

Portfolio creation best practices and step-by-step guide

Keeping your Sortlist profile up to date with your latest work helps you stand out and attract the right clients. In this guide, we’ll walk you through two ways to add new projects to your portfolio, manually or using our AI-powered import tool, and how to make the most of each.

Step 1: Go to your profile

Start by logging in to your Sortlist account and navigating to your profile. Click Edit Profile, then scroll down to the Portfolio section.

Step 2: Choose how you want to add work

You can showcase your projects in two ways:

  • Option 1: AI portfolio import (only Sortlist members)

If your projects are already featured on your website, you can save time using our AI-powered import tool. Here’s how it works:

  • paste your website URL

  • let AI scan and generate portfolio entries

  • review and edit the results as needed

This is the fastest way to add multiple works without uploading files or copying content manually.

  • Option 2: Manual entry

If you're not a Sortlist+ member yet, or simply prefer to enter work yourself, you can use the manual editor to build each project entry step by step. The editor includes the following sections:

What to include in a manual entry

The work editor is structured to help you tell a clear, compelling story. Here are the key sections:

  • Title (mandatory): Make it eye-catching. This is the first thing clients will see.

  • Illustrations (mandatory): Add images or embed videos from Vimeo or YouTube. You can upload multiple visuals and reorder them freely.

  • Expertises (mandatory): Select up to as much expertises as you wish. These help Sortlist clients find your agency in relevant searches. Only active expertises are visible and searchable. Not seeing the right one? You can suggest additions by emailing hello@sortlist.com.

  • Skills: Add 3 to 5 key skills used in the project. Use English terms and check for spelling. Avoid terms not supported in the marketplace (e.g., "ninja").

  • Budget (confidential): This information isn’t shown publicly but helps us match you with the right leads.

  • Period of collaboration: Indicate when the work was done — clients appreciate the context.

  • Description: Use this structure to describe the project:

    • Introduction

    • Challenges

    • Solution

    • Impact

💡 Don’t forget to fill out the client information section before saving.

No matter how you add your works — AI or manual — regularly updating your portfolio helps you:

  • appear in more relevant client searches

  • build trust with up-to-date and high-quality content

  • improve your visibility across Sortlist

A strong and current portfolio gives clients confidence in your expertise and helps your agency stand out from the competition.

Step 3: Preview your work

You can check how your works appear to others:

  • to view it as a Sortlist client, click the “view work” button at the top of the editor

  • to see it as a public visitor (not logged in), replace app.sortlist... in the URL with www.sortlist...
    (example: https://app.sortlist.be/en/work/… becomes https://www.sortlist.be/en/work/…)
