How it works

Customers can stop or restart SMS messages by replying with simple keywords.

SortScape automatically applies these requests and sends a short confirmation so they know it worked.

This ensures customers can control their messages and helps keep SMS delivery reliable.

Opting out

Customers can reply with messages like:

  • STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE

  • or phrases like “stop texting me”

What happens:

  • The number is unsubscribed

  • You cannot send SMS to them anymore

  • They receive a one-time confirmation:

You have been unsubscribed and will no longer receive messages from this business. Reply START to resubscribe.

Opting back in

Customers can reply with:

  • START, UNSTOP, SUBSCRIBE

What happens:

  • SMS is re-enabled for that number

  • They receive a one-time confirmation:

You’re now subscribed and may receive messages from this business again. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
