If you are downloading with Safari uncompressing the zip through safari changes the installer code and corrupts it. In order for Safari to just download the .zip file to manually uncrompress with the Finder
1. Open Safari
2. Click Preferences
3. Under the General tab, uncheck the option Open "safe" files after downloading
