Standard P1 Connection (RJ12)

Most Common Configuration

  • Standard port interface (RJ12-port with 6-pin) on most modern smart meters.

  • Requires Zap for RJ12/P1 Meters.

  • Works immediately out of the box. No extra adapter needed.

  • The Zap draws all needed power directly from your smart meter - no external power supply needed.

How to Identify Your Connection Type

RJ12 Port (Standard P1)

  • Looks like a small telephone jack

  • Usually 6 pins

  • Often behind a small cover

  • Typically labeled as "P1" or "User Port"

Important Notes

The Zap does not require external USB-C power under normal circumstances. If you have connectivity problems to your wifi external power may help.

If you connect another p1 reader to the Zap output external power is required.
