Solis

Updated over a week ago

Modbus TCP is enabled by default on Solis inverters

  • When the Sourceful gateway connects to the inverter, it may interrupt the Solis dongle connection

  • This means the Solis mobile app may not receive data while the gateway is connected

  • Monitor your system through the Sourceful Energy mobile app instead

Locating Your Inverter

Choose one of these methods:

  1. Use the IP Scanner in our mobile app to identify the inverter IP

  2. Use your router's interface to find the inverter IP

Connection Details

Default Modbus TCP settings:

  • Protocol: TCP

  • Default Port: 502

  • Unit ID: 1

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

If you experience connection problems:

  • Verify inverter power status

  • Check network connectivity

  • Ensure no other devices are currently connected via Modbus TCP

  • Verify port 502 is accessible

  • Test using Modbus diagnostic tool

Mobile App Access

If the Solis mobile app shows no data:

  • This is expected behavior when the Sourceful gateway is connected

  • Use the Sourceful Energy mobile app to monitor your system

  • If needed, temporarily disconnect the Sourceful gateway to use the Solis app

Testing Connectivity (advanced)

You can follow our testing guide to confirm that a connection can be established. For Solis inverters, try port 502. The Unit ID is typically set to 1.
