There are two ways a prescription item can appear in SparrowSend:

  1. Via your website
Customers have a unified shopping experience, adding OTC and prescription items to their cart.

  2. Via your SparrowScripts landing page
Customers enter their e-script tokens and checkout with prescription items only.

While processing prescription orders is the same as OTC orders, there are visual indicators and information relevant to prescription items to look out for.

Order Tile

Requires Contact Badge - This badge will be displayed on the order tile if the order contains a scheduled item. The pharmacist can contact and counsel the patient before dispensing the medication.

Scheduled Item Indicator - This indicator will be displayed to the left of any scheduled items. This is particularly useful for mixed basket orders containing prescription and OTC items.

Different Order Numer - An order number prefixed with SH indicates that the order originated from the SparrowScripts Landing Page.

Pick List

QR Code - This can be scanned directly into your dispensing software. The token is also available for you to copy/paste if required.

Entitlement - This section indicates whether a customer has entered a Medicare or Concession number. The pharmacist will need to validate the customer's entitlement.

Order Summary

Counselling Checkbox - This must be ticked to proceed, acknowledging that the customer has received a consultation from a pharmacist regarding their medication.
