Split Screens

View & edit resources side-by-side in a workspace

Updated over a week ago

A split screen allows you to edit multiple resources (e.g., pages, stacks, databases, and boards) side-by-side at the same time in a workspace.

Creating a Split Screen

To create a split screen, do the following:

  1. Open one of the items that you want to be a part of the split screen.

  2. Find the next item that you want to add to the split screen, and drag it to either side of the item that's already open.

How to Remove a Resource from a Split Screen

  1. Hover over the resource that you want to remove from the split screen in the sidebar

  2. While hovering, click on the β€œx” icon.

Note: To delete a split screen, click on the β€œx” icon for all of the resources in the split screen.

Creating Multiple Split Screens in the Same Workspace

You can have as many split screens in a workspace as you want, allowing you to switch back and forth between different sets of content quickly.

Reordering the Resources in a Split Screen

You can rearrange the order of items in a split screen easily by drag and drop.

Note: The blue border highlight that appears around the split screen element when performing a drag and drop operation denotes that if you drop the item, it will land inside the split screen element. If you don't see the blue highlight, the item will be removed from the split screen.

Moving a Split Screen in the Sidebar

  1. Hover over the connected dots on the left side of the split screen element. (This will make a hidden drag and drop handle appear.)

  2. Then click and drag the split screen to a new location in the sidebar.

Note: You cannot add split screens to the Favorites section of the sidebar.

How many items can I have in a split screen?

As many as you want. This means that if you have a windscreen monitor, you can take full advantage of it.
