We’re excited to bring LinkedIn directly into Specter, giving you unmatched visibility into both your own network and your team’s combined connections. Because each user authorises the integration individually, every member retains control of their data while still enriching their shared relationships.
Whether you’re sourcing, evaluating, or pitching a deal, Specter now shows precisely who in your network links to a target company, surfaces warm introductions instantly, and delivers real-time context on every profile.
As teammates connect their LinkedIn accounts, Specter merges all first-degree contacts into one searchable view. Filter any feed by My Network, Team Network, or a specific colleague—for example, select Team Network to reveal introductions your group can already facilitate.
In this guide you’ll learn how to:
Install and permission the integration.
Visualise and enrich your collective network.
Setup
Step 1: Go to your Integrations Page
Click 'Connect' for Linkedin
Note: LinkedIn integration is individual, not organisation-wide. Each teammate must connect their own LinkedIn account. |
Step 2: Install Chrome Extension
Install the Specter Chrome Extension from the chrome store to enable the integration.
The Specter Chrome extension provides two key capabilities: it synchronizes your LinkedIn network and surfaces detailed company intelligence directly on the websites you visit. No switching tabs, no copy-pasting. Just insight, in context. |
❗️Recommended: Pin the extension for quick access.
|
Step 3: Configure Features
Select the LinkedIn integration features you wish to activate.
Step 4: Sync Connections
Click ‘Start Full Sync’ to import your LinkedIn network into Specter.
Your connections will be automatically synced every 3 hours, but you can manually sync at any time to see the most up-to-date network insights. This ensures you're always working with live data. |
Step 4a: (Alternative) Manual Connections Import
Select 'Manually Import' located under Sync Now.
Head to Linkedin's Download Your Data page.
Choose Download Data Archive > Request archive. You will receive a ZIP file via the email associated with your LinkedIn account.
Unzip the file, locate Connections.csv, and add it into the Upload field back in Specter.
⬇️
Once synced, you can adjust which integration capabilities you would like to keep active using Specter Chrome Extension Settings:
You can also see which colleagues have connected their LinkedIn accounts in the Team members with synced network section.
Your Integration is now live!
Key Capabilities
With LinkedIn integrated, Specter shifts from simple sync to real-time leverage. The next section breaks down the core tools—instant “who-do-we-know” panels, network-first filters, the dedicated My Network workspace, and the one-click Specter Button—so you can spot warm paths, qualify leads, and act without leaving your flow
'In my Network'
You now have access to your People and Company Network. In both the Companies and People side-nav sections, click My Network to open a pre-filtered table that displays only:
People Network — individuals directly connected to you or to any teammate.
Company Network — organisations employing those contacts.
Network Filters
Use the Network filters at the top of any feed to refine results by relationship strength:
Filter | Function |
In My Network | Only contacts you’re directly connected to on LinkedIn. |
In Team's Network | Contacts linked to any Specter teammate. |
Not in my Network | Targets with zero existing ties—prime for cold outreach or research. |
Connection Role | Narrow further to Founders, Operators, Investors. |
Example — Surface Fresh Career Moves
The list below shows people 'In My Network' who have made a recent career move:
Company Overview 'Connections'
Open a company profile in Specter and you’ll see a Connections panel that lists every person at that firm who sits inside your network. No more manual cross-checking—just open the card and spot warm paths immediately.
On Linkedin
After enabling the integration, access Specter intelligence directly within LinkedIn: open any profile or company page, select the Specter Chrome extension, and a comprehensive, enriched overview of the individual or organisation appears—without leaving LinkedIn.
When Specter Buttons are enabled, a View on Specter button appears on every LinkedIn profile and company. One click opens Specter in a new tab—already focused on that record—so you land on a data-rich workspace instead of a blank slate.
