How to connect Specter with Affinity

Step 1: Create a new list on Affinity

  1. Login to Affinity

  2. Create New List

    1. We highly recommend to push Specter Signals to a dedicated Affinity List

    2. However, you can decide to push Specter Signal to any existing list

  3. Select ‘Build from Scratch’

  4. Select People if you are subscribed to Specter Talent Signals

  5. Select Opportunities if you are subscribed to Specter Strategic Intelligence Signals

  6. Select Organizations if you are subscribed to Specter Company Signals

  7. Name and Create your List

Step 2: Connect with Affinity

  1. Login to Specter

  2. Click on Connect with Affinity

  3. Paste your Affinity Admin API Key

  4. Select the Affinity Lists you want to push Specter Signals to

  5. Click Connect and go back to Affinity

Step 3: Customize View in Affinity

  1. Go to the List you connected with Specter and click on Customize View

    1. Specter automatically populated the list with its data points

    2. Save the View

  2. Go back to Specter

How to push one Signal

  1. Each Signal now has the Add to Affinity feature enabled

  2. Click on Add to Affinity and the signal will be automatically pushed to the target Affinity List

  3. If the team is interested in learning more about the signal, simply click on Specter URL

  4. And you’ll land on a dedicated signal page on Specter

How to push Lists to Affinity

  1. Each List now has the Add to Affinity feature enabled

  2. Click on Add to Affinity and your Specter List will be pushed to Affinity

  3. The Affinity API might take some time to process the requests, so don’t worry if the signals don’t appear right away 😉

How to push Filtered Searches To Affinity

Pushing less than 250 signals

  1. You’ll also be able to push custom queries when you apply filters to Your Feeds

  2. If the filtered query has less than 250 signals the Add to Affinity will automatically appear and you’ll be able to automatically push the signals - no difference compared to pushing a one Signal or a List.

Pushing more that 250 signals

  1. However, if the filtered query has more than 250 signals, a different option called Export to Affinity will appear.

  2. The reasoning behind this choice is because Affinity charges API calls for every single field connected to opportunities, people or organizations, hence by pushing hundreds or thousands of signals you may max out your Affinity API calls.

  3. But no worries, it is all very straightforward 👉 this special export will include Specter signals formatted according to the fields we already built for you in Affinity. All you need to do is download the file and import it back in Affinity ✨
