Signal Type

There are various Signal Types that allow you to filter for different kinds of talent movements:

  • New Company

  • New Role

  • New Fund

  • Searching - Talents who have left their jobs but haven’t announced their next move yet, to gain an advantage on future New Company / New Role signals.

  • Promotion

  • Investment - Uncover new companies through small and under-the-radar angel investments, often undisclosed.

Signal Status

You can also filter by Signal Status to show talents at different points in their lifecycle, which flows chronologically as follows:

→ Live
OR
→ Stealth or Searching → Out of Stealth → Live

  • Live - Clearly announced end signal, e.g: someone leaves Specter to join a given company, or launch a given startup.

  • Stealth - Talent operating secretly, end signal not clearly announced. We know the Signal Type but not the target company.

  • Out of Stealth - An 'update' signal when we discover the target company from a previous Stealth or Searching signal.

    • This dynamic Signal Status only lasts for one week. So, if you filter for anything Out of Stealth with an older Signal Date than This Week, the search won't return any results.

    • To see previous talents that were in Stealth and came Out of Stealth prior to This Week, you can search for Live signals that have an Out of Stealth Advantage score (example here).

    • Note: Out of Stealth Advantage is the the number of days difference between when the Stealth signal and the Out of Stealth signal related to a specific Talent were detected.

    • On Fridays Out of Stealth signals temporarily disappear to make space for the new upcoming weekly signals.

  • HR - this is associated with the Signal Types of Promotion or Searching.
