Water filters are used for the optimal quality of the coffee. The frequency of replacing your water filter depends, first and foremost, on the frequency of use.
Spinn’s activated carbon filter reduces the number of impurities such as chlorine and other contaminants, whilst eliminating unpleasant odors that can affect your coffee drinking experience.
If you go on holiday, there are a number of things you can do to keep your filtration system intact and thus uphold your coffee quality. Even during longer periods of inactivity, your water filter must still always contain water and not dry out (meaning the base of the water tank should have a layer of water).
We suggest you put the water tank (including water filter) in the fridge. Upon your return, you must remove the water and rinse out the tank using hot water. Should you have a period of inactivity of longer than a month, replacing the water filter is recommended.
Using purified water could serve as an alternative to using a water filter. Mineral water, however, should not be used, as it contains a higher amount of calcium and magnesium than tap water or purified water.
