Your Spiral Breath+ practice data stays on your device. Breath audio used by Breath Lock is not uploaded or permanently saved.
Where your practice data lives
Your sessions, sigils, journeys, reflections and affirmations are stored locally on your iPhone.
Spiral Breath+ has:
• No user account
• No Spiral Breath+ cloud storage
• No sync between devices
Deleting the app deletes its locally stored practice data.
What happens to your breath audio
During a session, Breath Lock uses a brief, very low-quality temporary audio recording so the phone can provide live audio-level readings.
Is my breath audio uploaded?
No. Spiral Breath+ does not transmit your breath audio off your device.
Is the temporary audio kept?
No. The temporary recording is deleted automatically during the session lifecycle, including when:
• The session ends
• Anchoring begins
• You pause
• You leave the app
• You end the session early
What is analyzed?
Breath Lock uses changes in audio loudness over time to detect your breathing pattern.
It does not perform speech recognition and does not analyze the words you say.
Anonymous usage events
Spiral Breath+ sends six anonymous usage event types:
• Onboarding completed
• Session started
• Session completed
• Journey started
• Share card shared
• Subscription started
These events contain limited information associated with the event, such as exercise name, session length, coherence label, number of cycles or plan type where applicable.
They do not contain a user identifier, advertising identifier, breath audio, affirmations, reflections or other free-text practice content.
Spiral Breath+ does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not use data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What else can leave your iPhone
In addition to the anonymous usage events above, Spiral Breath+ can communicate externally in these situations:
Purchases, restores and price lookups communicate with Apple's App Store services.
A brief internet connection check is made when you use Restore Purchases.
Links you choose to open can take you to external destinations such as the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Apple subscription management or support email.
Content you deliberately share through the iPhone share sheet is sent to the destination you choose.
Spiral Breath+ does not include an advertising network, crash-reporting service or external AI service. Reflect is generated on your device.
Permissions Spiral Breath+ requests
Spiral Breath+ uses two iPhone permissions.
Microphone
Requested for Breath Lock.
Spiral Breath+ asks for microphone permission once, when Breath Lock is first set up.
The microphone is used during sessions for Breath Lock, which measures changes in the loudness of your breathing over time.
If you allow access, iOS remembers your choice and Spiral Breath+ does not ask for microphone permission again.
If you decline, breathing sessions still work normally. Breath Lock is unavailable and coherence scoring uses Timing and Completion instead.
If you later want to enable microphone access, go to:
Settings → Spiral Breath+
Photos — saving only
Requested when you choose Save to Photos for a Share Card or session image.
Spiral Breath+ requests permission to save the image. It does not request access to
browse or read your photo library.
If you decline permission, the image cannot be saved to Photos.
Spiral Breath+ does not request Camera permission.
If you unexpectedly see Spiral Breath+ requesting access to your camera or permission to read your photo library, please contact support@spiralbreath.app.
You can review or change available permissions under:

If a permission button seems to do nothing
After you've previously declined a permission, iOS may stop displaying the original permission prompt.
If that happens, open:
Settings → Spiral Breath+
and change the permission there.
