Presets are ready-made breathing exercises. The Free plan includes 8 exercises plus the Calm demo. Spiral Breath+ includes all 84 built-in exercises.

What a preset contains

Each preset defines:

• A breathing pattern — inhale, hold, exhale and hold, measured in seconds
• A session length — either a number of cycles or a number of minutes
• An Anchoring period at the end
• A harmonic tone
• Colours
• Five affirmations — one for each breathing phase, plus one for Anchoring

The second hold is displayed simply as “Hold”.

About the exercise names

Some exercises use spiritual, symbolic or metaphysical names. These are names for contemplative practices and are not claims about physical or medical effects.

Spiral Breath+ does not claim that an exercise diagnoses, treats or prevents a health condition.

Creating your own exercises

You can create a custom exercise by:

• Using Manual Entry
• Editing an exercise and saving your version
• Importing a shared exercise

Free users can save 1 custom exercise.

Spiral Breath+ subscribers can save unlimited custom exercises.

How custom exercises are managed

• If you save a new exercise with a name that already exists, Spiral Breath+ adds a number to the name. For example, another exercise named “Calm” becomes “Calm 2”.

• If you import an exercise with the same name as one of your existing custom exercises, the existing exercise is updated instead of creating a duplicate.

• You can reorder and delete your custom exercises.

• Imported values are kept within the app's supported ranges: inhale and exhale 1–30 seconds, holds 0–30 seconds, cycles 1–99, and Anchoring 0–10 minutes.

If you're on Free and your custom exercise slot is full

You'll see:

“Free Tier — 1 Saved Slot Full”

You can delete your existing custom exercise to make room for another, or upgrade to Spiral Breath+ for unlimited custom exercises.

If an imported exercise updates an existing custom exercise rather than creating a new one, the update is still allowed when your Free slot is full.

The one-exercise limit applies only when creating an additional custom exercise.

If you cancel Spiral Breath+

One custom exercise you've already created remain saved and playable after your subscription ends.

The Free plan's one-custom-exercise limit then applies to creating additional exercises. Existing custom exercises are not deleted simply because you cancel Plus.
