Spiral Breath+ is for meditation, breathwork and contemplative practice. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
Practise safely
Breathe gently. Stop if you need to.
Slow breathing and longer holds can leave some people light-headed.
Sit or lie down somewhere comfortable. Never practise while driving, swimming or in water.
If you feel dizzy, light-headed or uncomfortable, stop and let your breathing return to normal.
You can shorten the holds, exhale, reduce the session length or choose a gentler breathing pattern next time.
Before you begin
If you are pregnant, or have a heart, blood pressure, respiratory or seizure condition — or any other medical or mental-health condition — speak with a qualified professional before beginning a breath practice.
Spiral Breath+ cannot determine whether a particular breathing exercise is appropriate for an individual medical condition.
If you feel uncomfortable during a session
Stop the exercise and let your breathing return to normal.
Do not continue a hold or breathing pattern simply to complete the exercise or improve your coherence score.
Your comfort and safety take priority over completing a session or achieving a particular score.
If you have concerns about whether breathwork is appropriate for you, speak with a qualified professional.
Making an exercise gentler
Breathing exercises can be adjusted.
Depending on the exercise, you can:
• Shorten the inhale or exhale
• Shorten or remove holds
• Reduce the number of cycles or session length
• Reduce the Anchoring period
• Choose a gentler exercise
You do not need to complete a breathing pattern exactly as shown if it feels uncomfortable.

About exercise names
Some Spiral Breath+ exercises use spiritual, symbolic or metaphysical names.
These are names for contemplative practices. They are not claims that the exercises produce physical or medical effects.

Your coherence score
Your coherence score is an in-app measure of how closely your session followed the selected breathing exercise.
It is not a health measurement, diagnosis or indication of your medical condition.
Do not use a coherence score to make decisions about your health.
