Plans and billing
I subscribed but the app still shows Free.
Make sure you're online, then tap Restore Purchases and fully close and reopen Spiral Breath+.
Check that:
Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases
is using the Apple ID associated with your Spiral Breath+ subscription.
If the app still shows Free, contact support@spiralbreath.app.
Restore Purchases says there's no active subscription.
Check that the Apple ID under:
Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases
is the same Apple ID used to subscribe.
If it is and Restore Purchases still cannot find an active subscription, contact support.
I was charged instead of getting the 7-day free trial.
Trial eligibility is determined by Apple based on your Apple ID and subscription history.
Apple generally limits introductory offers within a subscription group. The Apple purchase screen shows the offer you're eligible for before you confirm the subscription.
If you believe you were charged incorrectly or want to request a refund, refund requests are handled by Apple through its Report a Problem service.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Yes. Open:
Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Spiral Breath+
and choose the available subscription option.
A change from monthly to annual is expected to take effect immediately. A change from annual to monthly is expected to take effect at your next renewal.
Apple determines the exact billing adjustment and timing shown when you change plans, so review Apple's confirmation screen before approving the change.
Switching plans does not create another introductory trial.
Family Sharing is included with the annual plan only. If you move from annual to monthly, Family Sharing ends when the monthly plan takes effect.
If you're a Founding Member, contact support@spiralbreath.app before switching so we can help you understand what is known about your Founding status and rate.
When does my subscription renew? Is it still active?
Open:
Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Spiral Breath+
Apple manages subscription status, billing and renewal dates.
Spiral Breath+ shows whether you're currently on Free or Plus, but it does not display your renewal date.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are cancelled through Apple:
Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Spiral Breath+
You can also use About → Manage Subscription in Spiral Breath+ to open Apple's subscription management.
Spiral Breath+ cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you.
What happens if I cancel?
Plus remains available until the end of your current paid subscription period.
Your existing exercises, Journeys, journal entries and sigils are not deleted simply because you cancel.
Sigils created while you had Plus remain in colour.
Journeys you've already started remain available to finish.
Custom exercises you've already created remain playable, although the Free limit applies when creating additional exercises.
Can I get a refund?
Spiral Breath+ cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
Refund requests are handled by Apple through its Report a Problem service.
Devices
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Android is planned, but there is currently no announced release date.
Does Spiral Breath+ work on iPad?
iPad is not currently supported.
Can I use Plus on two iPhones?
Your Spiral Breath+ subscription is associated with your Apple ID. Restore Purchases can activate your Plus entitlement on another iPhone using the appropriate Apple ID.
Spiral Breath+ does not provide its own cloud sync between devices. Practice data is stored locally on your iPhone.
Whether locally stored practice data is preserved through an Apple backup or device-transfer process has not been verified.
My sessions or Journeys are missing after reinstalling.
Spiral Breath+ does not have a user account or its own cloud sync. Practice data is stored locally on the device.
We have not verified every Apple backup or device-transfer scenario, so support should not promise that locally stored practice history can be restored after reinstalling the app.
If you have an active Spiral Breath+ subscription, use Restore Purchases to restore your Plus entitlement.
If you need help with missing practice data, contact support@spiralbreath.app.
Sessions
My session cancelled when I switched apps during the starting countdown.
This is intended.
Leaving Spiral Breath+ during the five-second starting countdown cancels the countdown so you don't return to a breathing session that has already started without you.
Start the session again when you're ready.
Can I practise with the screen locked, or with the app in the background?
No, and this is intended. Leaving the app or locking the screen ends the session — the tone, the microphone and the timers all stop. Spiral Breath+ is designed to be used with the app open and the screen on, and the screen stays awake for you during a session. Ending cleanly is deliberate: iOS restricts what apps may do in the background, so breathing phases could not be timed accurately there. Nothing continues playing after you leave.
Can I pause a session?
Yes. You can pause during the breathing phases.
Pausing is not available during Anchoring.
Pausing can reduce the Completion component of your coherence score by a small amount.
Why isn't there a separate sound for every inhale and exhale?
This is intentional.
Spiral Breath+ does not use separate sound effects for every breathing phase.
During a session, audio guidance comes from the continuous harmonic tone, when selected, together with the voice guidance.
Anchoring also includes an ambient audio layer.
Why doesn't the voice count numbers for me?
Spoken countdown numbers within each breathing phase are a Spiral Breath+ feature.
The visual countdown is available on both Free and Spiral Breath+.
I can't hear any audio.
Check your iPhone's volume first.
If you're using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, check which device your iPhone is sending audio to.
Spiral Breath+ session audio can play while the iPhone's ringer is set to silent, so the silent switch alone should not prevent session audio.
Journeys
My Journey didn't advance after a session.
Automatic Journey progress occurs only when the exercise you completed is associated with that Journey.
Some Journeys do not use a fixed exercise list and are credited manually using the
Practice button on the Journey card.
If your Journey didn't advance, check whether the exercise belongs to that Journey or whether the Journey uses manual Practice credit.
My Journey advanced twice in one day.
This is intended.
Journey progress counts qualifying practice sessions rather than calendar days. Two qualifying sessions completed on the same day can therefore advance a Journey twice.
I created a custom Journey on Free and it disappeared.
Creating and saving custom Journeys requires Spiral Breath+.
On Free, you may be able to open and fill in the custom Journey form, but the Journey is not saved unless you subscribe.
Can I send an entire Journey to someone else?
No. Journeys cannot currently be shared as a complete entity.
You can share the individual exercises. A Spiral Breath+ subscriber can then use those exercises to recreate a custom Journey on their device.
Exercises and importing
Where is the QR scanner in Spiral Breath+?
There isn't an in-app QR scanner.
To import a Share Card, open your iPhone's built-in Camera app, point it at the QR code and tap the Spiral Breath+ notification that appears.
Can I import a QR code from a screenshot or saved photo?
Not in the current version.
Use your iPhone's built-in Camera to scan the Share Card QR code.
Why can't I save a second custom exercise?
Free includes one custom exercise slot.
Delete your existing custom exercise to make room for another, or subscribe to Spiral Breath+ for unlimited custom exercises.
Why does my imported exercise say some features were simplified?
This is expected when a Free user imports an exercise containing Plus-only audio settings.
• Harmonic tones other than 528 Hz or 174 Hz are changed to 528 Hz
• The infrasonic layer is removed
The exercise itself can still be imported and used.
Sigils and scores
Why are my older sigils still grey after subscribing?
The in-app colour state of a sigil is determined when it is created.
Sigils created on Free remain greyscale after you subscribe.
Sigils created while you have Spiral Breath+ appear in colour and remain in colour if you later cancel.
Sigils created using the Calm Plus Demo on Free also remain in colour.
Share Cards are always full colour on both plans.
Why do sigils from the same exercise look very similar?
This is expected.
Each exercise has a consistent underlying geometric form, so sigils generated from the same exercise can look very similar or almost identical.
Session information contributes to how the sigil is rendered, but sigils are generated deterministically rather than as random images.
Why is my coherence score lower than usual?
Breath Lock depends on the microphone being able to distinguish your breathing pattern from holds and background sound.
A weak microphone signal, background noise, very quiet breathing or some Bluetooth audio devices can affect detection.
For troubleshooting steps, see Troubleshooting Breath Lock and Microphone Issues.
Does my coherence score say anything about my health?
No. Coherence is Spiral Breath+'s in-app measure of how closely your session followed the selected breathing exercise.
It is not a health measurement, diagnosis or indication of your medical condition.
Other
Why does Sessions show 1 when I haven't practised yet?
This is a known display quirk that can occur when there are no sessions to count, including for a new user or immediately after Reset Stats.
It does not mean an extra session has been added to your Archive.
The displayed Sessions figure corrects itself after you complete a session.
I lost lifetime Plus access after reinstalling. What should I do?
Please contact support@spiralbreath.app.
Lifetime-access cases need to be reviewed directly rather than handled through the standard subscription troubleshooting process.
