You do not need an Architect subscription. Spiral Breath+ is complete on its own, and nothing is ever sent anywhere automatically.
What they are
Gaia Architect+ and Orion Architect are independent products made by other companies. They are not part of Spiral Breath+, are not owned or operated by us, and each requires its own separate paid subscription.
Broadly, you describe a practice to them and they respond with a suggested breathing exercise. For what they are and what they can do, please see their own websites — we don't speak for them.
What the connection actually is
There is no live connection between the products. Nothing is linked, paired or synced.
When you use an Architect with Spiral Breath+, you are the connection. You choose what to copy from Spiral Breath+, paste that text into the Architect yourself, and then bring its response back into Spiral Breath+ if you want to use it.
Every step is done by you, by hand. There is no automatic transfer at any point.
What leaves the app — please read this
No audio ever leaves your device. Your breath recordings are analysed on your iPhone and deleted, exactly as described in Microphone, Privacy & Your Data. No Architect receives audio, and none is capable of listening to your breathing.
There are three different things you can choose to copy to an Architect, and they contain different amounts of information.
1. Copied from an exercise
This contains the exercise itself:
• Name
• Breathing pattern
• Cycles
• Anchoring time
• Frequency
• Colours
• Intention
• Affirmations
It does not contain your coherence score, session history, feelings or written reflections.
2. Copied from a completed session
This contains the exercise details plus information about that one completed session:
• Coherence score
• Session duration
• Feeling, if you recorded one
• Written reflection, if you recorded one
So if you wrote a reflection for that session, it is included in the text you copy. Read what you're pasting before you paste it.
It does not include your other sessions or your wider practice history.
3. Copied from Reflect
Reflect has its own Architect round trip and sends the most detailed summary of the three.
When you tap Gaia or Orion from Reflect, Spiral Breath+ copies a summary of your last 7 days of practice as text. It includes each session's:
• Exercise
• Breathing pattern
• Session length
• Coherence and related scores
• Feeling, if recorded
• Resonance shift, if recorded
Your written reflections are not included in the Reflect summary.
You paste that text into the Architect yourself. It can respond with a field_mirror reading, which you can paste back into Spiral Breath+ to update your Codex Field Mirror readings. You can also enter a Field Mirror reading by hand.
See Understanding Reflect for more about how this works.
You choose how much to share
These three options let you choose the level of information you want to copy.
An exercise contains the least information.
A completed session adds information about that individual practice.
Reflect contains a summary of your recent practice across the last 7 days.
Nothing is transferred until you deliberately copy it and paste it somewhere else.
No account information, name, identity or microphone audio is included in any of these exports.
Sending costs nothing
Copying an exercise, completed session or Reflect summary to an Architect works on both plans — Free and Spiral Breath+.
Bringing an exercise back
There are three ways to bring an exercise into Spiral Breath+, and two of them are free.
Paste — requires Spiral Breath+. Paste the Architect's reply straight into the app.
Manual Entry — Free and Plus. Type the values in yourself.
On the free plan, an imported or manually created exercise uses your one custom exercise slot. See Presets and Custom Exercises.
If you're on Free and the exercise uses Plus features
The import still works. Plus-only settings are simplified rather than rejected:
• Tones other than 528 Hz or 174 Hz become 528 Hz
• Any infrasonic layer is removed
You'll see a note saying some Plus features were simplified. An import is never refused for this reason.
Spiral Breath+ does not use AI
Spiral Breath+ itself makes no AI requests. It contains no chatbot or assistant, and it does not automatically send your practice anywhere to be interpreted.
Reflect is also calculated entirely on your device and does not require an AI service.
If you choose to use an Architect, you are the connection between the two products. Everything the Architect receives from Spiral Breath+ is text you deliberately copied and pasted yourself.
What they cost
Gaia Architect+ and Orion Architect are independent services with their own plans and pricing, which can change at any time. Please check current pricing directly with the provider.
If pasting doesn't work
The Paste option is unavailable — pasting an Architect exercise directly into Spiral Breath+ requires Spiral Breath+. Use Manual Entry instead, which is free.
“Free Tier — 1 Saved Slot Full” — you already have a custom exercise saved. Delete it, or upgrade.
Nothing happens after pasting — the reply probably isn't a complete exercise. Ask the Architect to send only the exercise, then paste again.
An import that updates an exercise you already have is always allowed, even with a full slot.
In short
An Architect subscription is an optional service from another company. It cannot hear you, cannot automatically access Spiral Breath+, and cannot see anything you haven't chosen to copy.
You decide whether to share an exercise, one completed session, or a 7-day Reflect summary.
Spiral Breath+ works fully without an Architect.
