Splash: NCAAB Can I Turn Off Hook Spreads for ATS Pick Scoring?

No — hook spreads must remain enabled when using the ATS (Against the Spread) scoring format.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Why?

ATS scoring is designed to grade picks using standard betting spreads, which include half-point values (ex: -3.5, +7.5). These “hook” spreads prevent pushes and ensure each pick results in either a win or a loss.

Because of how ATS grading works:

  • Hook spreads are required

  • They cannot be disabled

  • There is no override setting available

If you prefer to allow whole-number spreads (which can result in pushes), you would need to use a different scoring format instead of ATS.
