We've built our systems to be secure enough to make it hard for a foolish thief to try and enter them. That said, sometimes this friction can make it hard to access our facilities, particularly if you are a first timer.
The lock may flash red if the *
button is activated incorrectly. This issue often occurs due to pressing the button too hard, and understanding how the mechanism works can help prevent this. In the following tips, we'll provide insights to minimize these issues and access your facilities easily.
Here's a collection of the tips that we've heard are the most useful, from cyclists just like yourself:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
If you encounter persistent issues accessing the facilities due to a red flashing lock, follow these additional steps:
Gently Tap the
*
ButtonThe lock mechanism requires a light press to activate. Avoid pushing too hard as it may trigger the red flash.
Avoid Pressing Numbers Prematurely
Press the
*
button completely before entering any numbers to ensure the code is recognized properly.
Pause and Try Again
If the red light continues after a few attempts, the lock will shut down for 30 seconds as a security measure. Please pause briefly and try again, following the recommendations above. By understanding and following these key troubleshooting tips, you can resolve most red flashing light issues right away.
Press the “Get Entry Code” button in the app just before you access the unit each time (your code will change throughout the day so will be a different code in the morning and evening).
Give the * button a very gentle tap to begin. If this turns blue, the lock is now ready for you to enter your access code. If this flashes red, briefly pause before trying again.
The red light after a * button will only happen if the * is pressed too hard. Please try this again, pressing the * button very gently.
Enter the numbers slowly and patiently, with a small gap between each entry. You should hear 1 beep after each press. The keypad is purpose-built & is patient - you are under no pressure to press the buttons quickly so you can take your time.
If the keypad does flash red at any point, please pause for a few moments before starting the sequence with the * again. I know it’s frustrating when you’re in a rush & just want to get in, but the red flash & long beep is the keypad telling you to start afresh.
If the lock continues to flash red despite following the steps, wait for a few moments and retry with a gentle press on the*
button.
If an incorrect code has been entered 3 times in a row, the keypad will temporarily shut down as a security measure (you'll hear a long beeping sound, and then it will be unresponsive). Please wait 30 seconds and then try again.
