Checking Out of your Daily booking helps more cyclists use the space.

The "Check Out" feature helps us get more of us cycling, more often.

When you've finished with Daily booking, pressing "Check Out" will finish your booking and place your individual rack inside a Hub or Outdoor Locker back online, for other cyclists to book.

1. What is the Check Out feature?

The Check Out feature allows cyclists using our parking facility to end their booking once they have finished using their spot. This helps to free up space for other cyclists who need parking.

2. How do I use the Check Out feature?

To use the Check Out feature, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Spokesafe app, where your current booking will appear on your Home Screen.

  2. Click on the "Check Out" button.

  3. Confirm your check out by following the on-screen instructions.

3. Why should I check out when I finish using my spot?

By checking out, you help ensure that other cyclists have access to parking spots when they need them. It means we can get more people on bikes more often, and use these improved statistics to open more cycle parking facilities.

4. Can I check out from any device?

Yes, you can check out from any device that has our app installed and is connected to your account. The Check Out feature is not currently available on our web-app.

5. What happens if I forget to check out?

If you forget to check out, your booking will remain active until its scheduled end time. This means the spot will not be available for other cyclists until your booking naturally expires.

6. Will I receive a notification to check out?

Yes, you will receive a notification reminding you to check out when you press the "Entry Code" button for a second time. This is because our records show that most users access twice per Daily booking. This helps you remember to free up the spot for others.

7. Can I check out early?

Yes, you can check out early at any time during your booking. Simply follow the steps outlined in the "How do I use the Check Out feature?" section.

8. Is there a penalty for not checking out?

While there is no penalty, we encourage all users to check out - it helps us provide more evidence for cycling infrastructure in your area!

9. What if I have pressed "Check Out" accidentally?

If you have Checked Out but you have changed your mind, you will need to re-book your space again (we recommend you do this right away so that another cyclist doesn't accidentally book your space). Don't worry, if you contact our customer service team afterward we will process a refund for you.

10. How does checking out benefit other cyclists?

Checking out frees up your spot immediately, making it available for another cyclist to use. This reduces the waiting time for others and improves the overall parking experience.

11. What if I encounter issues while trying to check out?

If you experience any issues while checking out, please contact our customer support through the app or visit our help center on the website for assistance. You can also email us at hello@spokesafe.com asking to Check Out and our team can manually process that for you.

12. Can I rebook the same spot after checking out?

Yes, you can rebook the same spot if it is available. However, you will need to go through the booking process again.

13. Does checking out affect my billing?

No, checking out does not affect your billing. You will be billed according to your original booking duration, and there are no refunds for an early Check Out.

14. Can I Check Out of my Weekly or Monthly booking?

At the moment we're trialing this feature with just Daily bookings - but if it works well we'll look to give you the option. We know from feedback that many of our Monthly members are interested in helping more people cycle in more often.
