We're happy to announce our latest feature which allows canteen operators to set a specific availability date or date range for individual menu items.

Now you can plan weekly specials in advance and have them uploaded into the system at the beginning of each term in the Menu Editor. Once a menu item availability is set, the menu item will only be available for order on that date or date range in the Spriggy Schools app.

The great thing about this feature is that you can set it and forget it!

No more turning weekly special items on and off manually, and no more worrying about weekly special orders being placed in the wrong week.

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your Spriggy Schools canteen account.

  2. Click "Menu Editor."

  3. Click the pencil icon next to the relevant menu item.

  4. Scroll down to "Item Availability Dates."

  5. Select a "Start Date" and an "End Date" by clicking on the calendar icons.

  6. Click "Save."

  7. The start and end availability dates should appear in a row above the save button.

  8. Click the trash icon to delete the item availability date(s) if required.

  9. If you need to change an item availability date range that you have already saved, simply delete it and create a new one. You can also set as many item availability dates as you want.

  10. Once the item availability date range is set, the menu item can only be ordered in this date range. If a different week is selected when ordering on the Spriggy Schools app, the menu item will be greyed out and unavailable to order as shown in the image below.

    Things to note:

  • The start and end availability dates are inclusive.

  • Once the availability date(s) are either saved or deleted the changes will take effect immediately.

  • If the daily availability of an item is set to one day only, the availability date range will not affect this. For example, if an item's daily availability is set to Tuesdays only and the availability date range is set to 16th-20th August, the item will only be available to order on Tuesday during the week 16th-20th August (see image below).
