The new GST feature to help canteens calculate GST in the Sales Report

NEW FEATURE: GST Check Box

Calculating GST has been made easier with the new GST feature.

You will now see a GST check box when you add a new item or edit an existing item in the Menu Editor tab.

When the check box is ticked, the GST will be calculated and will appear in your Sales Report.

TO ACCESS THE SALES REPORT

1. Select Reports in the top menu.

2. Select Sales Report.

3. Choose the school(s) and add the Start and End Dates you would like the report to cover.

4. Then click Load.

The Sales Report will generate and you will see GST for any items you have ticked in the Menu Editor.

In the image above we can see a sales report has calculated GST for the item Fresh Fruit Salad. This is because the GST check box has been ticked for the Fresh Fruit Salad item in the Menu Editor.

The other items such as Apple and Mandarin did NOT have this check box ticked and therefore GST was not calculated on these items.

This feature is purely for record-keeping purposes for Canteens and has no implications on the parent app when a parent attempts to order.

ADDING GST TO EXISTING MENU ITEMS

To add this GST feature to an item that already exists follow these steps.

  1. Select the Menu Editor tab.

  2. From the list of items select the item you wish to add GST to and then click the pencil icon to edit this item.

  3. Once the item opens up scroll down and tick the GST applies to this item check box.

  4. Click Save

GST will now be calculated for this item in the Sales Report.
