How to set up credit card as a payment collection method in your Sprout Studio account

Your clients can easily and conveniently pay for orders and invoices in Sprout Studio by using their credit cards. Sprout Studio takes no commission on your orders. Sprout Studio integrates with Stripe, PayPal, and Square for online credit card processing, which each have its own standard fees.

Here are some details for each:

  • PayPal - 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction and no monthly fee. You have to trigger transfers to your bank account manually, and they typically take 3-5 days. PayPal payments are processed in PayPal, so your client is redirected to PayPal to make their payment.

  • Square - 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction and no monthly fee. Transfers to your bank account are done automatically with a 1-2-day delay. Square payments are processed directly in Sprout Studio, so your client only sees the credit card form, and everything is branded for you.

  • Stripe - 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction and no monthly fee. Transfers to your bank account are done automatically with a 2-3-day delay. Stripe payments are processed directly in Sprout Studio, so your client only sees the credit card form, and everything is branded for you.

Once you have an account with one of the above payment processors, you can integrate your account with Sprout Studio on the payments & taxes settings page.

How to link to your external credit card processor (Stripe, PayPal, or Square)

Go to Settings > Pricing > Payments Methods and click the "+" and choose "Payment Method". Select "Payment Processor" and choose your processing company from the dropdown. The input field for your username/secret key will appear, depending on which one you choose. (You will need to collect this login/account information from your external online payment collection account.) Click "Create" and you will receive a confirmation when your credentials are validated and your accounts are linked.

Your clients can now select a credit card for payment on the orders and invoices where it is enabled as an option.
