You can send a digital Contract to your clients through Sprout Studio as a requirement to book you as their photographer or just as a contract for them to sign as an addendum, cancellation, and so on.

How to create a new contract

You can add a contract in several different ways:

  1. Go to Settings > Booking > Contract Templates and click the "+" button. This will create a template contract that you can use over and over again.

  2. Anywhere a contract is used (i.e. a Booking Proposal or in a Shoot), you can create a new custom contract (or choose from a template one).

  3. Go to Overview > Contracts and click the "Add New" button at the top of the page. This is where you can create a contract that is not attached to a Shoot.

When adding/editing a contract, you can insert any "variables" that may be applicable, such as your name, today's date, the shoot name, and so on.

You can see the list of all variables available by clicking on the "Variable" button in the contract toolbar and selecting the corresponding menu in the bar. Just note that all accept boxes on a contract must be filled out, or the contract will not be able to be signed.

How to add an "Accept" checkbox to a contract

You can add an "Accept" checkbox to a contract, which requires that your client checks it off before signing the contract. This is useful if you want to draw attention to a specific section in your contract and confirm that they have read it.

To add an "Accept" checkbox to a contract, click the "Variables" button in the contract toolbar, click "Custom Variables," and click the "Insert Accept Checkbox" button. This will insert the shortcode where your cursor is in your contract.

How to add a text field to a contract

You can add a text field to a contract, requiring your client to enter information into it before signing the contract. This is useful if you want to collect specific information as part of the contract.

To add a text field to a contract, click the "Variables" button in the contract toolbar, click "Custom Variables," and click the "Insert Text Field" button. This will insert the shortcode where your cursor is in your contract. Just note that all text fields on a contract must be filled out, or the contract will not be able to be signed.

How to require multiple signatures in a contract

You can require that multiple people sign your contract. By default, contracts require one signature. To add multiple signatures, click the "Add Signature" button in your contract's "Settings" section.

You can specify the signature's name (or title) by clicking into the signature box and giving it a name (i.e., Client 1 and Client 2). Just note this isn't actually signing the contract. It's to let your client know who is to fill in each signature box.

Note: You don't need to add a signature box for yourself. Sprout will automatically add a signature box for you to sign after your client signs the contract.
