Using the Gallery Tools

Sprout Galleries have a ton of different tools you can use. This article will go over some used to build your gallery.

Galleries are an amazing tool that you can leverage with Sprout. It makes the user experience a lot more smoother and user-friendly.

In this article, we are going to discuss the different Gallery tools that you can use to your advantage. Once you create the Gallery and click into it, you have a plethora of options that you can set up for your client experience to be much better and personalized.

On the Edit Gallery page you can:

Upload Images:

  1. Click “Select Photos to Upload” to upload images into the gallery.

  2. Once the upload is complete, click the “view gallery” button to view the image thumbnails.

Create a collection of images:

  1. Click the “Folders” section on the right-side of the screen.

  2. Click the “+ New Folder” button.

  3. You can select images and drag images and drop the images into the collection.

View the Gallery:

  1. Click on the "View" button to open the gallery in a new tab. This way you can test out how the gallery will appear to your client!

Configure gallery settings:

  1. Click the “Settings” button on the right-hand side of the gallery.

In the gallery settings modal, you can:

  1. Change the look and feel of your gallery via a new cover and how your thumbnails appear.

  2. Watermark your Gallery.

  3. Set your gallery visibility to private or public.

  4. Insert a slideshow or a video.

  5. Customize the gallery link.

  6. Attach the gallery to a shoot or lead.

  7. Add a gallery message template, which is a greeting message that your client will see when they view the gallery.

  8. Set a gallery expiry date.

To view the gallery on the front end:

  • Click the “view gallery” button.

Watermark Your Images

  1. Click the “Settings” button in the top right corner.

  2. Click the “Design” section.

  3. Click “+ Select a Watermark.”

  4. Choose the watermark you would like to add to the gallery.

  5. Click the “Close” button to save and continue.

Selling To Your Client In Gallery

  1. Click the “Settings” button in the top right corner.

  2. Click the “Shopping” section.

  3. Click “Price List” to add your price list.

  4. Set your tax.

  5. Set your payment collection method.

  6. Set your shipping method for your client to choose from.

  7. Set whether you want to offer coupons.

  8. Click the “Close” button to save and continue.

Setting Up Digital Downloads

  1. Click the “Settings” button in the top right corner.

  2. Click the “Downloads” section.

  3. Enable your gallery download permissions.

  4. Click “+ New Password Protected Download” to give download permission to anyone with that password.

  5. Set your download size at the bottom of the page.

  6. Click the “Close” button to save and continue.

Set Preferences For Client Fulfillment

  1. Open a gallery that is attached to a shoot.

  2. Click “Credits & Coupons” on the left-side menu.

  3. Click the “Add New” button.

  4. Click “Add Credit.”

  5. Specify the price list you want to choose the items from.

  6. Click the “+ Add Item” button to add items for the client to choose for the credit.

  7. Click the “Update” button to save and continue.

Tools that you can use in relation to the images in your gallery:

Once you select one or multiple images in the Edit Gallery page, you should be able to see some tools to edit how the images are sorted, option to delete, download or make a picture the cover image. Here is a brief description of these tools:

  1. Trash: Once the images are selected, using this button, you can delete them from the Gallery.

  2. Copy Filename(s): This tool can be used to copy the file name(s) of all the files that are selected.

  3. Download File(s): Click on this button to download all the selected files to your device.

  4. Feature Image: This tool will allow you to make a specific image the cover image of the gallery.

    Note: this option will only be available if there is only one image selected.

  5. View Options: This is where you can sort the images, toggle filenames on or off and zoom-in and out to make the thumbnails bigger or smaller according to your preferences.
