Our Basic Plan is a solid go-to for people who want access to the core SpyFu tools and freedom to run as many searches as possible.

Our Professional Plan adds more functionality (and more value for the price) for people who want greater reach into details. They might manage clients or wear both SEO and PPC hats.

Our Unlimited Plan removes any doubt about what access you have and serves the needs of agencies, enterprise clients, and those who need bulk data to manage their own systems.

What's the Historical Data that is available with the Professional Plan?

The historical data we have shows a domain's spending over time, the number of keywords it has bought, and the number of keywords it has ranked for over time. If the domain has been advertising, we can even see past ads that they ran--in some cases going back to when the company first started. Groupon.com is a great example of this.

Without that historical view in the Basic plan, users see current snapshots of those same things: the number of keywords they currently advertise on, the ones they currently rank for, and the current ads we're seeing.

How many searches can I do?

With any of our paid plans, you get "all you can eat" access to searches. We won't cap how many times you search keywords, and we won't cap the number of domains you search either.

What's the difference between keywords to track and keywords to search?

The first step on SpyFu is to enter a keyword into the search bar. The results you get back include ranking details, the ads on this keyword, and deep keyword metrics like volume, costs, and clicks. All of these searches lead to more data and features that help you ramp up your keyword research.

Keyword tracking is a way to measure your SEO and PPC performance on a specific keyword that you target. Tracking tells you where a domain ranked for a specific keyword search (or which ad position it held), and these usually get updated once a week.

Do I need a lot of projects?

Projects are a way of organizing your findings right on SpyFu. Our built-in project manager allows you to save keywords into a domain-specific "project." Having a few different projects is handy when you research keywords for multiple clients.

You can save keywords in groups and even add labels to them like "Summer 2021 project" or "competitor keywords." Saving the keywords gives you more frequent ranking updates for that domain, and it makes it easier to keep track of keyword ideas you've compiled.

You might still use multiple projects even if you manage one website's SEO or PPC. Since you can find information tied to any domain, this gives you a chance to save projects on your competitors and their keyword performance, too.

What exactly do you mean by "results per report"?

Since we load so many different results into a keyword search (or a domain search), and those results can lead to more searches across our toolset, it's helpful to refer to those separate sets of results as "reports." That doesn't mean that one domain search = one report, though.

If you search groupon.com, we will tell you which keywords it ranks for. We can also tell you which keywords it buys. Consider each of those separate reports. If you have a plan that offers 500 results per report, that means that you can see up to 500 keywords that groupon.com ranks for and another 500 keywords that have triggered Groupon's ads on Google.
