How long will my benefits stay active after I terminate employment?
All health benefits you are currently enrolled in (medical, dental, & vision) will remain active through the last day of the month in which you are employed.
For example, if your last day of employment is January 20th, your benefits will continue through January 31st.
If you have an FSA account, your card will be deactivated immediately, but you can continue to submit claims for reimbursement on expenses incurred during the plan year, prior to your termination.
You will be offered COBRA and can choose to continue your medical, dental, and vision coverage through your current plan, including the FSA.
MetLife will offer transition of coverage options for the ancillary Hospital, Critical Illness, and Accident policies.
Voluntary Life and AD&D policies will terminate at the end of the month after separation. You will have 31 days to initiate the Portability or Conversion options. NYLife will reach out with information regarding the available options and next steps
