How do I file a claim? How long does it take for repairs and replacements?

Here is the process for claims:

  1. If you need to file a claim, please log in to our website here to get started: https://claims.squareprotect.x.getakko.com/login.

  2. Fill out the claim form with all fields completed and attach any relevant information.

  3. Repairs: If your item is in need of repairs, Square Protect will direct you to a local repair shop and reimburse the cost of repairs, less your deductible! Many of our repair claims, such as cracked phone screens, get fully resolved within 24 hours!

  4. Replacements: If your item is in need of total replacement (unrepairable or stolen), Square Protect will send you a payout equal to the replacement value.

Notes:

  • Your deductible is subtracted from any claim payouts. For example, if your screen repair is $129 after tax, and the repair deductible for your phone is $29, you would receive a payout of $100.

  • Theft claims will take longer to resolve than damage claims. Police reports and proof of purchase are required, and copies must be submitted to our team. The time to receive a report may vary based on where you live.

  • Customers should not proceed with any repairs or replacements before receiving approval for the claim.

  • Replacement Value: When the replacement value of your device is determined at the time of a claim, it is based upon a refurbished device of the same make/model/specs/color. "Replacement cost" coverage is the standard method of determining the proper value for a payout across the protection/warranty industry (it's also how car insurance works; when a vehicle is totaled, the payout is not based on a brand new car).
