Quick policy overview
Every project includes a 10-day approval window and 2 free rounds of edits. Round 1 covers requests for retouching edits (product/model) or image adjustments (AI images). Round 2 is a follow-up to refine what was addressed in Round 1 — new requests at this stage are paid.
If a reshoot is needed, it's free when the error is ours, paid otherwise. In AI projects, if a full image regeneration is needed, it's priced at 50% of the image price.

Approval Window
Once the project turnaround time finishes and you receive an approval link for ready images, you have 10 calendar days to request edits. Revisions requested outside of the approval period are still processed, however, they will be paid.
Please highlight areas needing attention and provide clear instructions or references. We appreciate any information that can help us meet your expectations.
Free Revision Rounds
We offer 2 free rounds:
Round 1: all retouching edits (product/model) and targeted edits (AI) — edits that do not require a full image regeneration.
Round 2: follow-up to Round 1 only, to refine what was addressed. New requests at this stage are paid.
Each round typically takes up to 3 business days. We'll flag if a faster turnaround is possible or if the scope requires more time.
Retouching Edits — Product and Model Shoots
All retouching edits are free within the first two revision rounds.
This does not apply to requests that fundamentally alter the product in post-production, or to additional retouching services, including:
Recoloring the product
Combining elements from multiple images into a single composite shot
Placing the product into a new scene, environment, or lifestyle context not captured during the shoot
Resizing or reformatting images beyond the agreed deliverable specs (e.g. new aspect ratios, resolution upscaling)
Providing extra services such as creating new file formats or changing the background color
Please note that white products on a white background may appear soft, but they actually have the same level of sharpness as other images. This is an optical illusion caused by a lack of contrast between the product and the background.
Targeted Edits — AI Projects
Free rounds cover targeted edits — adjustments that do not require a full regeneration of the image. This includes:
Product accuracy — any accuracy issue falling below the 90–99% expected range that is addressable within AI capabilities (e.g. label corrections, color corrections, proportion adjustments)
Scene-level adjustments that don't affect the core composition or concept:
Upscaling the image
Texture adjustments
Removing AI artifacts
Aligning the product within the frame
Recoloring objects in the scene
Adjusting temperature or exposure
Erasing an object from the scene
Reshoots — Product and Model Shoots
Reshoot requests are evaluated separately and subject to the free/paid distinction below. Reshoot eligibility is assessed by our production team within 1 business day of feedback submission. If a reshoot is required, it follows the standard turnaround time of the original project.
Free reshoots:
Any reshoot due to Squareshot's failure to follow shooting directions and angles outlined in the shot list and accepted proposal.
Any reshoot if the products have been shot upside down or using the wrong sex of the mannequin, or any other severe errors.
Paid reshoots:
Any changes to shooting direction, angles, styling, props, or background after the shoot has commenced or final images have been delivered.
Any reshoot due to unclear directions from the client that were open to interpretation and assumption, where Squareshot documented the ambiguity prior to the shoot or proceeded based on a written interpretation.
Any instructions that haven't been specified in the shoot brief or confirmed in the brief before the start of the production stage of the project.
Reshoots requested outside of the approval period of 10 calendar days.
Changing the shape of items that have been shot on a mannequin or as a flat lay, if specific examples with a different item shape haven't been provided before the work started.
Reshoots based on examples that haven't been provided before beginning the work.
Reshoots based on incorrect examples provided before the work has started. For example, if the actual type/category or shape of the product doesn't match the example provided.
Any reshoot if there weren't any specific requirements before Squareshot began the shooting.
Any reshoot if the final images match the test shot provided by Squareshot before proceeding with the whole project.
Full Regeneration — AI Projects
Some requests require a full regeneration of the image rather than a targeted edit. These are priced at 50% of the original AI image price and follow the same turnaround time as the original project.
The following require a paid regeneration:
Scene or concept change — replacing or altering the setting, environment, or overall visual concept
Lighting change — changing the type, source, or direction of lighting in the image
Compositional repositioning — changing the position or size of any element within the frame
Model change — switching the model or changing the model's appearance
Adding or replacing an object — introducing a new object or substituting an existing one (requires regeneration due to shadows, scale, and lighting integration to make it feel natural)
Crop, ratio, or framing adjustments — changing the image format, reframing the shot, or adapting it to a new aspect ratio (e.g. 1:1, 4:5, 16:9)
Turnaround Time for Revisions
Retouching edits and targeted AI edits take up to 3 business days per round. If revisions require a reshoot or full regeneration, they will take the standard turnaround time of the original project.

Edits could be either free or paid, depending on the cases outlined below.
Free Revisions:
Any revisions made due to Squareshot's failure to follow shooting/retouching directions and angles outlined in the shot list and accepted proposal.
Matching the color based on carefully provided directions or references. Color matching means that Squareshot will match the color of the image to the actual color of the product. Color matching is not the same as recoloring.
Changing reflections on shiny products, including jewelry and watches, if the final images do not match the provided examples.
Any revisions made if the products have been shot upside down or using the wrong sex of the mannequin or any other severe errors.
Removal of a few folds/wrinkles or slightly softening them.
Decreasing the image size.
Decreasing the image paddings.
Changing the size, intensity, or color of the shadow.
Adding sharpness* to the images.

Paid Revisions:
Paid retouching edits are charged at $30/hour. If the edits requested take less than 1 hour, we don't charge you for them.
Any changes made to the project after the shoot/retouching has started or the final images have been sent. Some common examples of paid changes include: changing the angle, layout, or styling; adding a new angle; removing shadows; changing the background; increasing image size; adding props, etc.
Any revisions made due to unclear directions from the client that were open to interpretation and assumption.
Any instructions or edits that haven't been specified in the shoot request form or accepted proposal before the start of the production stage of the project.
Revisions requested outside of the approval period of 10 calendar days.
Recoloring the product.
Changing the shape of items that have been shot on a mannequin or as a flat lay, if specific examples with a different item shape haven't been provided before the work started.
Revisions based on the examples that haven't been provided before beginning the work.
Revisions based on incorrect examples provided before the work has started. For example, if the actual type/category or shape of the product doesn't match the example provided.
Complete removal of all foldings/wrinkles if this hasn't been added as a "no wrinkles" add-on in the accepted proposal.
Adding folds/wrinkles if the service "no wrinkles" has been added to the accepted proposal.
Removing defects in the product that cannot be attributed to the quality of the images.
Changing reflections on the shiny products, including jewelry, watches, and belts, if the final images match the examples provided.
Any revisions made to the final images, if the final images match the test shot provided by Squareshot before proceeding with the whole project.
Any revisions made if there weren't any specific requirements before Squareshot began the shooting or retouching.
Turnaround Time for Revisions:
If revisions require a reshoot, they will take the standard turnaround time stated within the proposal. Revisions that do not require a reshoot take up to 3 business days.
