PC Users: Remote Desktop Connection

  • When the node screen appears, click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

  • Select Download The RDP File.

  • Click the Node Icon. This will download the SR1.rdp file for the node you use to access SR1.

  • Save the RDP file to your desktop or other accessible place on your PC.

    • If you do not save the RDP file to your desktop, it will force you to download the file each time.

    • If you save the file to your desktop, you can access SR1 anytime by double clicking on the icon on your desktop and avoid going through any web browser. This gives you direct access into the server, bypassing the web browser entirely.

  • Add your User name

    • In the window that pops up, enter your username in the following format: SR1DC\Your Username

  • Edit the RDP File's Display Settings

    • If you are on a Windows 10 or Earlier Machine

      • Right Click on the icon and select edit

    • If you are on a Windows 11 Machine

      • Right Click on the Icon Select Show more options

      • Select Edit

  • Change the Display Settings

    • Click the Display tab

    • Uncheck the box next to Use all my monitors for the remote session.

  • Click the General Tab

  • Click Save

  • Click Connect

  • In the next box that pops up check Don't ask me again for connections to this computer, click connect again.

  • In the next box that pops up enter your SR1 Password when prompted.

  • Click OK

Mac Users: Microsoft Remote Desktop (now called Windows App)

  • If you do not have Microsoft Remote Desktop / Windows App installed on your machine, please download from the Mac App Store and install it.

    • Note that the name of this application on Macs used to be "Microsoft Remote Desktop", but it is now called "Windows App".

  • In an internet browser, login to SR1 US - Rytebox (for US or AU Clients) or SR1 UK - Rytebox (for UK and EU Clients)

  • When the node screen appears, click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

  • Select Download The RDP File.

  • Click the Node Icon. This will download a ".rdp" file, most likely to your "Downloads" folder.

  • Open Microsoft Remote Desktop / Windows App.

  • Go to "Connections" in the top menu bar and select "Import from RDP file..." and navigating to the RDP file you downloaded from the browser in the previous step.

  • When prompted, enter your Username and Password. When inputting your username, please include “SR1DC\” before your username. After entering your credentials, select Continue.

  • At this point, you will connect to SR1.

  • Once the RDP file is set up in MRD / Windows App, you can connect a folder that will allow you to upload files to / download files from SR1

  • Right click on your connection, and choose "Edit"

  • Navigate to the Folders section, check the box labeled Redirect folders, and then click the + button

  • Navigate to whatever folder you want to use to upload to / download from SR1, and click "Open"

  • Next, click "Save". This folder will now be connected to SR1 - any files you want to upload to SR1 will need to be in there, and any files that you download from SR1 will land in there.

  • If you would like, you can also save your Username to your connection. To do this, first go back to that same Edit menu by right clicking the connection, and choosing "Edit"

  • Click the drop down menu next to Credentials and select "Add Credentials...". Enter “SR1DC\” and then your username. Do not add your password, as you will need to enter it every time you access SR1 anyway for security reasons.

  • To change the display settings (advised), go to the Display tab, and uncheck "Use all monitors" and "Start session in full screen"
