Controlling payment methods and adding variable service fees

Meer dan een week geleden bijgewerkt

This article is about changes effective from July 1, 2021.

A new page has been added to Settings - Account, namely Deal & Payment methods. Here you can view deals and set your payment methods.

Payment methods

Here you can select which payment methods you want to make available to your ticket buyers. Switching it on and off applies to all ticket shops.

  • iDeal: Dutchies most used payment method

  • Card: VISA, Mastercard

  • Sofort: German payment method

  • Bancontact: Bancontact card (filled in via Card) and Payconiq by Bancontact where the payment is authenticated with a QR code via the Bancontact app

Your organization's deals

At first you will find one deal here, the current deal. You can find what the agreed prices are between your organization and Stager for:

  • Plan

  • Payout fee

  • Chargeback fee

  • Ticket fee, per payment method

  • Refund fee, per payment method

All prices are exclusive of VAT.

If a new deal is created with different prices, which can happen if you sold more tickets than you initially specified, a new deal will be added to the page. The old deal will always remain viewable.

Variable service fee on ticket types

In the case of expensive credit card payments, you could expect an extra invoice from Stager for the extra credit card costs. These are charged to Stager by the credit card companies. We now cover this with the newly added variable fee. These credit card costs are already added to the Stager ticket fee upon payment, so that we no longer have to invoice this afterwards.

To cover the variable credit card costs and be able to pass this on to your ticket buyers, you can add a variable service fee to a ticket type. You do this under Settings - Ticketing - Ticket types. Are a lot of tickets purchased with credit cards for one event and not for another event? Then create different ticket types with different fees. For the event where a lot of credit cards are used, you use the ticket type with a Service fee fixed and Service fee variable. For example, if a ticket costs € 50, and you set the fixed fee at € 0.85 (assuming the Stager ticket fee is € 0.85) and the variable fee at 2%, the service fee will automatically be € 1 .85, - (€ 0.85 plus € 1.00). This covers your credit card costs.

Another addition is the VAT on service fee field. This is especially useful for organizers outside the Netherlands, where the VAT on the service fee is sometimes a different percentage than the VAT on the ticket price.
