This ensures that shoppers see badge labels, option prompts, and other app-generated text in their own language, providing a consistent and native experience across all markets.
Manage translation
The default language shown on this page is your store's primary language as configured in Shopify. To add translations, select the language you want to translate into from the language dropdown, then enter the translated text for each field.
Translations entered here apply only to text generated by Swatch King on the storefront. They do not affect your Shopify product data, theme content, or any other app.
Selecting a language
Use the language dropdown to select the language you want to add translations for. The dropdown lists all languages that have been added to your Shopify store. To add a new language, go to your Shopify admin and add it under Languages settings first, then return here to add the translations.
Translatable fields
The following app-generated text can be translated for each language:
Select a
{{ option_name }}— the text displayed in the option selector label and on the Add to Cart button when a customer has not yet made a variant selection. This corresponds to the Option selection text configured in App settings. For example, if your default text is "Select a Size", you can enter the equivalent phrase in German, French, or any other supported language here.SALE — the text displayed on the Sale badge. Enter the translation for the sale badge label as it should appear to customers in this language. If you have used dynamic variables such as
{{percentage_save}}in your Sale badge text in App settings, enter the full translated phrase here including any variables you want to retain.SOLD OUT — the text displayed on the Sold out badge. Enter the translation for the sold out badge label as it should appear to customers in this language.
How it works
When a customer visits your store in a language that has translations configured here, Swatch King will automatically display the translated text in place of the default language text. If no translation has been entered for a particular language, the default language text will be displayed as a fallback.
To ensure translations display correctly, make sure the language you are translating into has been fully set up in your Shopify store. For more information on setting up multiple languages and markets in Shopify, refer to the translating your store guide linked at the bottom of this page.
Note: The Refresh button at the top of the page can be used to reload the localization settings if you have recently made changes to your store's languages or markets in Shopify and the new language is not yet appearing in the dropdown.
