Who This Is For

Users who need housing for 12 months or more and want to understand what is required to submit a strong request.

If you need housing for less than 12 months, this article does not apply to you. See How to Submit a Temporary Stay Request instead.

What You Will Learn

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Why long-term requests require more detail

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ How your request is reviewed

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ What makes a strong request

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ What to expect from the process

Why More Detail Is Required

Long-term rentals involve a formal lease agreement between you and a landlord.

Real estate agencies/landlords are selective about tenants, and they want to see that you can meet the terms of a longer commitment.

Because of this, your request needs to include more information than a temporary stay. This is not meant to create friction; it is meant to match you with the right housing option of the right provider.

What You Need to Submit

Required Information

  • Employment situation

  • Household

  • Bedrooms

  • Your preferred city, neighbourhood, or commute requirements

  • etc

Long-term requests ask about:

  • Your employment status (employed, self-employed, student, retired)

  • Household composition (partner, children, pets)

  • Reason for relocation (work, study, family, other)

This information helps us match you with housing options that align with your profile.

How Requests Are Reviewed

After submission, your request is reviewed by our team. We assess whether your profile and budget align with available properties.

If we need additional information, we will contact you. Otherwise, sourcing begins and you will receive matches when they are available.

For long-term rentals, sourcing may take longer than for temporary stays.

What Makes a Strong Request

Landlords/real estate agencies reviewing long-term applications look for:

  • Stable income that covers rent comfortably (typically 2-3x monthly rent)

  • Clear employment & income documentation

  • A complete profile with no missing information

  • Realistic expectations for budget and location

If your income is lower or your situation is non-standard (self-employed, new job, student), provide context.

Landlords are more flexible when they understand your circumstances.

What to Expect

After we find matches, you will be asked to:

  • Submit documents for verification (ID, employment, income)

  • Complete a formal application for specific properties

  • Wait for the real estate agency/landlord approval before proceeding with the handover

This takes longer than temporary stays, but it results in a secure, long-term living situation.
