Reference: Stellic Admin Permissions

Updated over a year ago

Audits and Pathways

Permissions for Audits and Pathways can be assigned at a School, Department, or Program level. (In addition, it is possible to assign permission at the level of an individual audit or pathway.)

If your institution’s data feed associates Programs within Departments and Departments within Schools, you can expect the following inheritance model:

  • School: Granting permission at the School level will also grant permission for Departments and Programs associated with the School.

  • Department: Granting permission at the Department level will also grant permission for Programs associated with the Department.

If your institution’s data feed does not provide these associations, you will need to assign permissions at each of the desired levels of scope.

Student Data & Engagement

Student Sets: A Student Set can be created and associated permissions assigned at the following levels of scope:

  • Campus

  • Student Tags

  • Student Level

  • School: Granting permission to view or engage with individual students at the School level will also grant permission for Departments and Programs associated with the School.

  • Department: Granting permission to view or engage with individual students at the Department level will also grant permission for Programs associated with the Department.

  • Programs

Note: If your institution’s data feed does not provide clear association between students and their programs, departments, and/or schools, you may need to assign permissions at each of the desired levels of scope.

Individual Students: At most institutions, a nightly data feed provides the association between advisors and advisees. Stellic uses this association to grant permissions for advisors to engage with individual students, based on their advisor-advisee relationship in SIS. This means that when a superadmin grants an admin permission for an individual student through the Stellic permissions interface, that permission will likely be overridden in the next night’s data sync. For manually assigned permissions within Stellic, Student Sets are the preferred behavior.
