Webhooks

A webhook is a way for two computer programs to talk to each other. It’s like a phone call between two friends. When one friend has something important to say, they call the other friend and tell them what’s going on. In the same way, when something important happens in one computer program, it can use a webhook to tell another computer program about it. This is useful because it allows different programs to work together and share information in real-time.

For example, let’s say a guest buys merchandise in your store. You want to know whenever someone buys a t-shirt so you can send them a confirmation email. You can use a webhook to tell your email program whenever someone buys a t-shirt. Then your email program can automatically send them an email without you having to do anything.

Another great use-case scenario for webhooks would be to send you a message/notification/email whenever your store is opened/closed/snoozed. This helps keep track of online ordering uptime and allows you to take immediate action in case your store is having issues with internet, kitchen too busy, etc.

Essentially, webhooks are like messengers that deliver important information between different computer programs. They help different programs work together and make things easier for people like you and me.
