In today's digital age, having an online presence is essential for any business, especially for those in the food and hospitality industry. Adding your storekit takeaway store to your Google My Business profile is a simple and free yet powerful way to increase visibility and attract more customers. Here's how you can do it.
Step 1: Claim your Google Business Profile
Start by claiming your business listing on Google. If you haven’t claimed your business listing, you’ll need to do it at Google My Business.
Simply type in your business name and choose one of the following options:
Claim and verify your business if it’s already listed but unclaimed.
Request access from the current owner if someone else has already claimed it.
Add and verify your business if it isn’t already listed.
After gaining access to and verifying your profile, you can easily update your business information as needed, including operating hours, contact information, and location data to help customers find your venue.
Note: If you have multiple locations, you must claim each one separately since Google's listings are location-based for services like Google Maps.
Step 2: Manage online ordering options
Once logged in, navigate to your business profile. Through your Business Profile on Google Search and Maps, you can handle online orders for pickup or delivery using Order with Google
To enable online ordering and adjust your ordering settings:
Access your online ordering options
In Google Search, select Food Ordering.
In Google Maps, select Edit Profile > Food Ordering.
Under 'Accept Orders on your profile', toggle Food Ordering on.
Note: If you disable 'Accept orders on your profile', any added third-party order options and links will be hidden from your Business Profile.
Step 3: Add an Order Link:
Under Manage links, add the URL of your storekit takeaway store
Enter the link and ensure it directs customers to your online ordering page.
To ensure your storekit takeaway is visible on your Business Profile, you can designate a preferred third-party order option and link. To do this:
Configure your online ordering options:
In Google Search, select Food Ordering.
In Google Maps, select Edit Profile > Food Ordering
Choose storekit from the list.
Select Set as preferred.
Toggle to make the ordering option preferred for pick-up or delivery.
