If you are using our StoryChief blog channel you may want to customize its address (URL). Changing the address can help build brand awareness, as readers will see an address in their browser that they know and trust.

Using a path for your blog instead of a subdomain is possible, but requires some setup.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to configure your own custom address.

Add your custom domain name

Step 1. Create a CNAME recordย

You can typically add a DNS record via your domain name registrar, they can assist you with this step if needed. Navigate to your DNS settings and add a CNAME record. Replace blog.mydomain.com with your chosen address.

blog.mydomain.com ย  CNAME ย  ssl.blogs.storychief.io.

Step 2. Wait for the changes to propagate

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations! You've now pointed your subdomain to StoryChief!
When DNS changes are made, you can expect a propagation time of up to 24 hours (but most likely within an hour). This is because it takes time for the new record to take effect across the internet.

Step 3. Save your domain in StoryChief

You can now add the domain to your blog. Go to your channels and choose William. Navigate to the "Custom domain" tab. Enter your domain and click on "Save".

๐Ÿ”” Note: This feature is available on all paid plans.
